My apologies if this was already sent... Some days I just can't seem to deal with the e-mail system.... Alan, The trunc function is as well hidden as the round function that Bob Baskett brought to our attention. I never would have found it if I hadn't ransacked my manuals after Bob's posting to find the round function, and then noticed the trunc function. My manuals appear to be organized differently than Bob's, but in mine the reference is Informix Guide to SQL Reference, version 4.10 page 6-266. The function does appear to work in 4.1.
