RE: Temporary String Space errors

The temp string space error is a real pain to track down, many things can cause the error. The cause starts somewhere but the program continues til it run out of string space and then the program dies. Informix tech support gave me a tech info #3925, that had routines to help track down the error. If you don't have tech support, send me an email message and I will fax you the info. Specifically, I would like to print a function call tree for a program which is giving me 'out of temporary string space' errors. My 4gl version is 4.11.UC4 on the RS/6000 using AIX 3.2.5. According to the manual, this can be caused by certain types of case statements, strings assignments with function calls, or nested function calls which return strings. Neither of the first two are applicable, so it has to be the third. The only function I have that returns a string does not call any other functions. This is a very frustrating problem. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael D Lemon Intabex Int'l, Inc.
