Experiences with organizing Raw-Devices

Are there any rules to organize a Raw-Device for an Informix-Database ? 1. In practice it is useful to place the physical- and logical-logs in the "rootdbspace". The Databases should be in separate "dbspaces". 2. The LOGspace and the DATAspace should be placed, if possible, on several harddisks. 3. A general rule says, physical- and logical-logspace should cover about 20 % of the whole "dbspace". The physical-logspace and logical-logspace should be in a ratio of 3:1. We are using INFORMIX-Online V4.11 on SNI MX300I (SINIX). Are there any other opinions, experiences, statements or suggestions ???
