Did I see something out here a while back about a script somebody has put together to limit the output from the standard alarmpgogram.sh. We want to use this to page out issues ... however the number of pages that a single event gets is way too much. I understand why this happens ... Thanks in advance for any assistance. PDL
Get my package utils3_ak. It contains my alarmprogram eventalarm.c which is
capable of emailing a list of users when events occur, of archiving logical
logs
to disk using ontape as they fill (you can disable that feature if you do not
need it) and it will also keep track of multiply occuring events, like logs are
full and lock table overflow, and limit the number of emails it sends to one
every <N> minutes where N is configurable.

Not as it's coded now, but you could change the pipe and dialog. If you are
familiar with embedding Expect, you may want to substitute that for the
response
processing function I wrote. Creating and managing the dialog would be easier
that way. I wanted it to be independent of additional software, so I did it
the hard way ...

The guys from HomeDepot also have made modifications to the alarmprogram.sh to limit the paging. Look around at the IIUG to find the presentations. It is all in shell.
