I am using Linux release 5.1 and I believe I am using esqlc version 7.2. When executing my esql/c programs I have processes that never die with the tag sqlexec <zombie>. I am told this is an error with Linux. Does anyone know if this is correct and if so is there a patch ? or Is this something that can be fixed using the sqlsignal() function. If anyone has any information. .It would be helpfull. Thank you Bill Fedoruk software developer bfedoruk@pangea.ca

RedHat 5.1, I guess, and ESQL/C 7.24.UC5, to be a little more precise. > When executing my esql/c programs I have processes that never die > with the tag sqlexec <zombie>. A well known problem. Check out the IDN web site, both the Linux and D4GL corners. > I am told this is an error with Linux. Not really. It boils down to an error in the way Informix is using Linux. > Does anyone know if this is correct and if so is there a patch? > or > Is this something that can be fixed using the sqlsignal() function. I'm told that sqlsignal() can fix it; I've not verified that. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
