Ouch! I don't think 3.0 and 1.02 can coexist -- they're natural enemies in the wild -- so I think you're being led down the wrong path... > As I understand it, you no longer develop NewEra >applications in the UNIX environment..... you must do this using >Windows 95 (or NT) and then copy your source (or p-code?) to the HP >UNIX box and recompile it? Now we're getting there... NewEra Motif and NewEra VCL/Character are means of *deploying* NewEra apps for execution on the supported UNIX platform(s). You use the PC version to develop/debug/perfect your application first. When you have it how you want it, you then check-off some Unix deployment switches in your App Builder, and it then generates a copy makefile and a build makefile for your target Unix system. Then, you use the copy makefile (or other means) to move the makefile and generated code sources (in the compiled-version case; otherwise, move pcode) to the Unix host, compile/link on the Unix box using the provided makefile, and then run. You would use 3.x (3.1 if it's released) of the deployment (Motif or Character) product, though -- NOT 1.0X. >Eddie (a very confused Informix user) -- Alan Denney yosemiteATnetcom.com "Whining is just anger coming out of a very small hole." -- Stuart Smalley
