Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi everyone.
While I was checking an auditing script from a third part I found that table Sysshmvals field sh_ovlmaxcons is used to establish the max # of connections. I found out complete information about this table at http://www.iiug.org/resources/webcasts/replay/14nov06.pdf and I verified that actually field represents which it's supposed to do.
Problem is that for development and backup server I refresh databases using ontape, so data in the field is the same I read on operative database, even when those replica servers are used very few (in comparison). I tried performing "onstat -z" in order to restore values to zero, but that didn't work in this table. Isn't this table/field reliable in this special case? Which could be a better way to know maximum connection?
The platform is IDS 9.40 FC7 under Solaris 9.
Thanks in advance
Omar Muñoz.
