NONSENSE!!!
On-Tape was part of OnLine, and OnLine was called OnLine in part
because backups could be made while the DBMS was running 24x7 and they
were self-consistent. ON-Tape did not lose this ability as OnLine
becames ODS, IDS, IUS, XPS, etc.
(I don't recall whether online backups were part of Turbo - but maybe
not.)
