Format of DBPATH setting for Informix SE 7.x for Windows95

Hi, can someone please tell me the correct format of the DBPATH setting for the Windows 95 version of Informix SE. The doc's state to use UNC notation with forward slashes. Ok, this works. But how do i just include a local drive letter in the DBPATH setting. i tried DBPATH=d:\\informix\\databases and DBPATH=d:/informix/databases and it gives a "server local\\d not defined in sqlhost" when trying to connect to the database.
