Jacob, Having a warning message to remind you to run a level-0 archive is a good idea because dropping a dbspace is changing your instance structure in a major way and it protects you if your system packs a wobbly and you need to restore. . However I agree with you, the message should be changed. The "will need to" is very misleading and I have no doubt that somewhere someone has seen this and simply run an archive. I suggest logging a P4 call with informix support as an enhancement request. Cheers, Tony #include <standard disclaimers>
