Hi IIUG,
I've done startup of my instance via 'oninit -vPHY' , it showed that the
instance is in Fast Recovery mode, however, if i try to do continuous log
restore via "ontape -l -C", error shows:
================
Logical restore failed
There are no DBspaces or BLOBspaces to recover.
Check the status by using onstat -d.
Program over.
================
Upon checking, all the dbspaces are in 'Consistent mode', which may caused
'ontape -l -C' not to function..
Chunks

Is there a way to fix this? i dont want to use 'ontape -p' because the DB is
around 2 TB in size. I did disk duplicate aka dd via OS.
IDS 12.10.FC4AEE on AIX 7.
Thanks,
This would be performing an external backup and restore with ontape.

You need to block/unblock the database server before/after the backup to get
an consistent image.

Then use the ontape -p -e command to perform a cold external restore, this
also marks the storage spaces as physically restored.

Finally perform a logical (log) restore

David.
