X Posted Hi I've trying to find out the effects/impact of changing the SQLhosts file on a running engine. Background. I have a live running engine on a server and want add a second instance to undertake some testing. Obviously this will need entries in the SQLhosts file, can I make these with the live instance still running and secondly will the live instance recognize these changes (ie will I be able to access the test instance from the live instance). I do not see a problem in it, it should work as you described it. As long as you do not modify the entrys of the running system and make sure the environment is set correctly for the testinstance when the test instance is started. Superboer. Am Dienstag, 13.
