Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
A light-hearted exchange in a thread titled Hidden message, where John Carlson, Scott Burns, Andrew Hamm and Art S. Kagel traded humorous numbered lists of things a DBA dreads hearing, such as onarchive being the corporate standard, mismatched spare drives, Informix is dying, and an electrician pulling a data-center breaker. No technical content.

Ah, the reactions to the "Top Ten Questions / Statement"
10. What do you mean 'onarchive' is the Corporate Standard?
9. It shouldn't take too much to convert our systems to <place
other RDBMS name here>. We're planning to go live next month.
8. No pay raises / training budget this year.
Any other takers?

7. I found all these hot swappable SCSI drives lying around doing
nothing. They were in a box in the spares cupboard. There were all
sorts of sizes and no two matched. So I swapped them with a mate for an
IDE drive to keep my MP3s on.

6. <Spoken by the electrical contractor's technician who had just pulled a
circuit breaker in the data center so he could safely install an outlet for
his microwave in the break room> Hey, why is everyone running around?
Something happen?
