Well, your information is a bit sketchy, but I'm assuming you're using esql/COBOL (because I can't think of another way...). What engine (SE, Online), what platform and what release? Engines and tools. If you're staying in the character mode environment for now, run don't walk and get Informix 4GL RDS - the pcode version, not the C code version. You will never regret it. (Nothing wrong with the C code version, just the pcode is more useful with the debugger). If you're going GUI - that's a different game altogether and there are a lot of options from 2 tier client-server onwards. Informix 4GL is so much more productive than COBOL that there *is* no comparison. Using COBOL - gile bener! BTW, where are you located? I was in Jakarta 3 weeks ago.
