How to get rid of ISM binaries?
Posted in 1999
Dear Informixers, my department is running Legato Networker network-wide, including the Networker module for Informix, so there is no need for ISM. I have a machine where space is running low in the partition of the $INFORMIXDIR, so I'd like to get rid of all the ISM binaries to make some room. I couldn't find any info about this in the manuals or the release notes. The ISM 7.30UC6 release notes say something about running "ism_shutdown -deinstall", but this is not a supported option in the ism_shutdown script on my platform (IDS 7.30UC6 on Siemens Reliant Unix 5.43). Furthermore, the SERVERS_7.30 release notes explicitly say that this command does NOT remove the ISM binaries etc. So how can I get rid of all the ISM stuff that I do not need? Is a simple "rm $INFORMIXDIR/bin/nsr*" (plus a couple more files) ok?
