You can get all the related information with the following code: while (sqlex != null) { System.out.println(" Message : " + sqlex.getMessage()); System.out.println(" SQL state : " + sqlex.getSQLState()); System.out.println(" Vendor error code : " + sqlex.getErrorCode()); System.out.println(" ------------------- "); sqlex = sqlex.getNextException(); } Regards, Manfred
I modified my code to do just as your while loop implies, and perhaps I should explain MY code a bit more. It fetches all of the id's from one table, and then systematically uses their id's to fetch from another table. The first table has some ~400 rows of simple data (four fields, two integer, two of varchar(100)). The second has similar row makeup, but has closer to ~70,000 rows. After loading all of the 400 rows, it then goes into loading the 70,000, and gets through 38,930 when it displayes: Error: Could not position within a table (anthony.milestonedef). SQL State: IX000 Vendor Error Code: -243 Error: ISAM Error: file is not open. SQL State: IX000 Vendor Error Code: -101 I'm a bit confused, because the database is still up and running, my logs aren't full. Would a posting of the onconfig file help (do I have some config setting too restrictive?)? Any advice would be helpful. marochess@gmx.de (Manfred Rosenboom) wrote in message news:<3ed48737.10054984@news.fsc.net>... > On 27 May 2003 13:32:07 -0700, anthony@zoraptera.com (Anthony Presley) > wrote: > > >Sorry for the cross-post, but it applies in both places :-( > > > >I'm writing several database conversion utilities for a client, under > >Informix 7.31.UD2, which run fairly well. > > > >However, during the conversion of some 56,000 rows, I've got about > >twelve errors for "Could not position within a table > >(anthony.milestonedef). -243".
