This is an old one. The older 4GL modules are looking for their message files, which is the primary component of the 'run-time' facility. IDS 7.2xx+ moved the files into GLS subdirectories. You may have to reinstall, installing the 4GL first but try this first, it works for more recent 4GL programs but yours are older so YMMV: cd $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333 for file in *; do ln -s $file $INFORMIXDIR/msg/$file; done If you are not running the US English language version of IDS change the message subdirectory appropriately.
