Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi...
First off, new to Informix and medium UNIX.
Machine: HP-9000
We have a version of Informix INstalled (7.1) and it runs fine.
We want to put up a test version of 7.22 UC2. In doing this, we
did a onmode -ky of our existing system.
The target of the ROOTPATH is a cooked file. The onconfig used
in the working system was copied to the new /etec directory and
names were changed. rootdbs, tempdbs and physdbs were touched
in the target directory.
We then did a oninit -i and get the following in the log:
Fri Aug 22 11:23:55 1997
11:23:55 Event alarms enabled. ALARMPROG = '/db1/informix/etc/log_full.sh'
11:23:56 DR: DRAUTO is 0 (Off)
11:26:49 INFORMIX-OnLine Initialized -- Complete Disk Initialized.
11:26:49 Warning: Invalid dbspace 'tempdbs' listed in DBSPACETEMP.
11:26:49 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds.
11:26:49 DBspace(physdbs) for Physical Log File not found.
11:26:49 INFORMIX-OnLine Stopped.
11:26:49 mt_shm_remove: WARNING: may not have removed all/correct segments
I haven't a clue what to do.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
