Length of a Smart Blob

Hi all.
Long time no post :-)
I am running IDS 11.5 and I have a table with a blob column. I'm
trying to
select length(blob_col) from table
But I get
674: Routine (length) can not be resolved.
Error in line 1Near character position 8
So, basically how can I get the length of the blob/clob?
Best regs,

Does smart blobs support length()?
This goes to the larger question. What do you mean by length? Size in
bytes? Characters? etc ...

Apparently not.

Basically, if you use lotofile(blob, "/some/path", "client") and you
do an
$ ls -l /some/path/ls will give you the "length" of the file (blob in this case).
That is the length I mean.
