help with RUN RETURNING

Running RDS 6.03 on Solaris 2.5 (recently upgraded from 2.2 on SCO) I can no longer get any OS commands to return their exit codes to my applications when using RUN RETURNING - the variable is always null after the command RETURNs. There is a mention in the release notes about core dumping when you RUN 4gl apps (I can't reporduce this!), but nothing else - I'm running UNIX scripts/dbload etc. Does any one else have this problem? Does any one have a work around? I don't know what to do! sob. TIA Nick
