Binary Data?

Hello, What is the quickest/easiest way to pull binary data out of Informix? My situation is this... we are running some netscape server products which use their own Informix Online 7.1 database in the backend. What I would like to do is hook up directly to the database and pull some of the information out which netscape is storing there in binary format. We haven't done any real work with Informix here either, so any suggestions as what environment is neccesary to develop such an application would be helpful too. I'm guessing that dbaccess won't quite do what we need it to, is this an accurate assumption?
