Informix SE & Visual Basic, Delphi, or Powerbuilder

Does anyone use Visual Basic, Delphi, or Powerbuilder with Informix-SE. If so, can you please let me know of your success and/or problems with any of these products as a front-end to Informix. I have to evaluate a cheaper application design tool to use with Informix-SE 7.23 than the currently used tool -- Uniface. The design tool must also be easier to learn than Uniface. If there are other alternative design tools that people are using successfully, please let me know. I really appreciate any input on this.
We use Vb with DAO and OBDC as a front end for Informix SE 5.?? (I can't remember the precise version). The ODBC driver we are using is the Intersolv 32 bits ver 3.01, and it works just fine! No sweat! I never tried ADO until know (sometimes old habits take a while to die!), but I don't expect to have problems with it. The only thing I can remember that was a problem, it was what we could say to be a Mr. de La Palice thruth: spend same time trying to optimize SQL commands and taking advantage from the database indexes. It can do wonders for the access speed! Best luck! Nuno C. Godinho P.S. - Same of the databases we are accessing have almost 1 Gb. The server is a very small 150 Pentium with 64 Mb EDO RAM, running SCO Entreprose System version 5.0.2. Disks are SCSI, connected to an old 1525 Adapthec controller (pre-historic but it works!).
