ODBC Error -11048

Hi all I have been struggling for awhile trying to access a Redhat Linux 6.0 box running Informix SE via ODBC from my WinNT workstation and, after reading many of the helpful posts in this forum (and others), have successfully accessed the stores7 demo database using the Intersolv driver that comes with the CLI-SDK. The Ilogin program works too. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment but I can't seem to get the Informix 2.8 ODBC driver to work. Using MS Access, when I try to link to a table using the Informix 2.8 ODBC driver I get the following message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed (#0) [Informix][Odbc Informix Driver] Unable to load translation DLL. (#-11048) I can link to the tables using the Intersolv driver. Anybody know what's going on?
