Need to work on application with following arch ( Red hat Linux AS 2.1 , Weblogic Server 8.1, Informix 9.3). My first query is whether Informix provides a flavour for Red hat Linux. Secondly , my client has Hp-UX UNIX box, so he is keen to use the existing licenses. So it possible to have datbase on different platform (UXIX) and the application on other, if yes, how and how is the impact on performace. Thanks & Regards, Suket

Yes. v9.3 is available for Linux (not specifically for Red Hat, and to ask this may imply you should brush up on Linux a bit). 9.3 used to be available on eval from the iiug site at www.iiug.org and 9.40 definitely is. 2. In the UK, and thus presumably in the rest of IBM EMEA and elsewhere, you can pay a small admin charge to have licences CURRENTLY IN SUPPORT transferred between OSs. We did this for a client in the summer, and the charge was then a flat fee of '250. -- Neil Truby t:01932 724027 Director m:07798 811708 Ardenta Limited e:neil.truby@ardenta.com
