We have upgraded our Informix. Online Dynamic Server from 7.20UC2 to 7.24UC2 4GL from 6.02UC1 to 7.20UD4 SQL from 6.03UC1 to 7.20UD4 Everything looks fine. BUT... when I try to re-compile some programs using the c4gl. The compiled 4ge file is bigger than the original one. This is not the main problem. The biggest problem is the program does not function correcly; I have checked the programs, there are no changes/modification at all. I have tried some other 4ges. They all look good without any re-compile. Is there something wrong in the c4gl? What can be wrong? Please advice! Here are a few observations concerning 4GL 7.20: 1. The compiled versions are much bigger. Still unsure why, but my guess would be the new GLS functionality with 4GL increases the size of the executable. It would have been great if Informix could have made that a part of the shared library structure. 2. We've had some problems with intermittent coredumps. I noticed it first with some DBA programs/reports that I ran internally. It then was reported to me from the user community that they were having some problems also, traceable to coredumps. The code hadn't changed; it seems to be the compiler. And they were intermittent; the same program might not ever dump during the day, or for a few days, but then it would have problems for the greater part of the morning. We're upgrading to 7.20.ud6; ud2 is on quality hold per Tech Support. What is different about the program execution now?
