Do a "ipcs" } and see if you have any informix owned segments. if so, remove with } ipcrm. } } My guess is #1 Also check kernel parameters to make sure that all of the shared memory parameters have been set to AT LEAST the values specified in $INFORMIXDIR/release/ONLINE_7.1 (or similar, depending on release). Specifically, SHMMNI governs max number of shared memory segments for the whole system, at least on HP-UX.
