Hi all.
Un few days i upgrade my system with new hds (more faster and
bigger).
I can move a table from a dbspace to other with "alter fragment..."
(this is very easy and faster), i can move the physical log, i can
move the logical log (adding news logs and dropping the olds) but...
How can i move the database-system-catalog (all sys* tables)?
and more...
How can i move the rootdbs?
My databases are midel-large (about 20Gb for eachone).
I don't want to do a restore (i need a new dbspace structure).
I don't want to use onunload or dbexport (each tape used is limited
to 2Gb :-(( )
Thanks in advance.
PS i'm sorry, my english is so bad. :-)

The only way is to shutdown the engine, dd the original chunk to the new
chunk (the offset if any MUST be the same BTW) and then drop the link to
the old chunk's disk (you DID use soft links didn't you?) and relink the
original link name to the new drive/device. Now you can bring the engine
back online and it will never know the difference. If you did not use
links you will have to rename the original device file and replace it
with a link to the new device file and you will probably have to do so
every time you reboot as many UNIX's create device files at boot time so
the links will be replaced with the original device name after reboot, but
check out how your system does it.

Your English is better than my Spanish since I don't speak Spanish.
