OK, first, you have to unload the tables as binary data. If I understand the problem correctly, your database is in EBCDIC and has COMP-3 data types. (Packed and Zoned numeric fields.) If you FTP from AS/400 or a Mainframe it automatically converts from EBCDIC to ASCII for you unless you specify the session to be Binary. Once you have the data down, you will need to write some simple ESQL/C routines for the data conversion. (I think I have some hacked code lying around.) If you have the 7.2 engine, there was supposed to be an utility to convert the data for you. If not, heck I'll write one and market it. ;-) Hope this helps. -Mikey
