Bad Dates in Informix

I'm running Informix Dynamic Server v7.12.UC1X4 on a DEC Alpha and have been experiencing date problems for some time now. Selecting CURRENT or TODAY doesn't always return the correct date. I have found this only in the stored procedures where the code will run through a loop and at some point the date will become 12/31/1899. Has anyone else had this problem? I was running an oncheck this morning and I noticed that the creation date for many of my tables was also 12/31/1899. My workaround for the stored procedures has been to declare a variable and set it to TODAY or CURRENT at the beginning of the code. This seems to work, but I don't like having to do it.
