ontape -r. How do i know its working ?

I'm doing a restore using ontape -r.
onstat - gives the following output
onstat -
*** WARNING: Informix Dynamic Server 2000 is no longer running. ***
*** WARNING: Informix Dynamic Server 2000 is no longer running. ***
Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.21.UC5 -- Initialization -- Up
00:03:31 -- 112640 Kbytes
*** WARNING: Informix Dynamic Server 2000 is no longer running. ***
My onstat -u gives a bunch of page cleaner threads. I dont see any I/O
activity. How do i know if its working ?
Userthreads
address flags sessid user tty wait tout locks nreads
nwrites

OK. It bombed.
Any idea what the stuff below means ...
oninit: Fatal error
in shared memory creation
Physical restore failed - could not fork server connection
Program over.

You may have old segments in memory... ipcs -a can help you.
If not, check the online log for further information.
