How to activate dynamic explain in windows's IDS

Hi all,
I can enable explains inside dbaccess, and with server studio (windows
xp-sp1 ids 11.5TC1).
Now I'm running an application and want to enable dynamic explains whose sid
is 19 (for example):
onmode -Y 19 1
Then when I make a query in the application it returns error "-534: Cannot
open EXPLAIN output file."
Since I have administrator privileges I think this is not the issue. I also
tried to create files "sqexplain.out" and "<username>.out" in
%informixdir%\\\\sqexplain and in the directory when the application reside but
the application insist on -534 !
So
How can I activate dynamic explain in windows xp's IDS 11.5 ?
Any help, as usual would be very appreciated.

Hi Jean,
I just tried this, once using
SET EXPLAIN ON
in dbaccess, and once with an open session in dbaccess and runningonmode -Y 24 1
Then in %INFORMIXDIR%\\\\sqexpln (note spelling) I see two files:
10/20/2008 08:06 AM 595 guyb.out
10/20/2008 08:27 AM 595 sqexplain.out.24
The second file is for the dynamic explain.
This was with 11.50.TC2 and XP SP3, though I am not aware of any issues
related to this in TC1..
Regards
Guy

As you said dbaccess and server-studio work right away...
So the problem seems to be more subtle... 'cause the application is
connecting to IDS with native libraries through CSDK 3.5TC1 ... maybe is a
problem there... gonna try execute immediate "set explain on", to see what
happens...
Thanks a lot for your quick answer.
