Droping a replicate column
Posted in 2016
Topics: General Discussion
Hi, I try to drop a column from a table, and get the 19994 error. This error say I must the column from the replicate definicion before droping the column. Then I remaster the replicated table removing the column from the replication. After that I try to remove the column again and get the 19994 error again. What can I do ? Thanks in advance.
Check if 'cdr list repl' command show replicate name that starts with=20
"Shadow=5F". If so, you will have to wait till the shadow replicate get=20
deleted. Shadow replicate gets deleted once replay position advance past=20
the log position when you remastered the replicate definition to remove=20
column from replicate definition. You could issue 'onmode -l' and 'onmode=20
-c' at all ER servers if you see ER not advancing replay position. 'onstat =
-g ddr' command show replay position.
This page has 'drop column' details:

Thanks. Yesterday I notice about the Shadow replicate and I delete it. After
that, I could drop the column.
Is there a problem if I drop the Shadow without wait to get the 20?

You may want to verify data across servers using 'cdr check' command.
