Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
i have already tried using DISCONNECT ALL before to no avail, but i did
you're suggestion of checking the parent's session after sql_detach is
called and amazingly it happens that the parent's session is still
active after sql_detach and when the child connects it sometimes
(rarely) uses the same session id as the parent. so now the module
passes the session id to the child which then goes into a loop and
checks the session id every second, when the session id is no longer
present then it connects to database. so far with 10,000,000 million
records (100 processes) the problem have not presented itself again so
hopefully that's the last of it. many many thanks
