To the database application development community; Aubit project is announcing the beginning of Aubit 4GL compiler version 0.5 release cycle. After over 2 years in SourceForge family, and over 8000 CVS commits, Aubit 4GL compiler is about to enter the release 0.5 cycle, which will see change in official development status from "Development - Beta" to "Production - Stable". In this 2 years, we created a functionally rich 4GL development environment, including integration of GUI, PDF, ESQL/C, P-code, ACE, XML-RPC and many other industry-standard technologies. Currently, Aubit 4GL compiler can successfully compile and run over 98% of IBM/Informix-4GL(TM) programs. Our goal is to get this compatibility estimate to 99.9% before version 0.5 is released. We are hoping to be able to simultaneously announce first large scale production environment using Aubit 4GL compiler in commercial environment, utilizing PostgreSQL OpenSource RDBMS.
