Converting Old Informix 3 to ISQL 2

Situation: - Old database with valuable data on Altos 586 running old Informix version 3; - New 386 Xenix system running ISQL version 2.10.03K; - Transfer of files via diskettes no problem; - Strong desire to move data and pgms to new system. Questions: What would be the quickest way of doing this? Is the format of the .dat files the same? Could I just define the new database and then slink the .dat and .idx files in under the new names? Or, if I need to unload to ascii and reload, is there a quick way to unload an old V3 Informix data file? What about schema definitions? Is there a way to stuff in a text file containing a schema, or do I have to key it into the carbon-based life-form interface? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Neal Rhodes MNOP Ltd (404)- 972-5430 President Lilburn (atlanta) GA 30247 Fax: 978-4741 emory!mnopltd!neal ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
