Hi John, a few month ago, you wrote the following advice: >Tune Tips for HP KAIO >RESIDENCY > In version 7.30 for best KAIO performance set RESIDENT flag > in the onconfig to -1. In this case, does the resident portion of shared memory still remain resident? Is this value (-1) documented somewhere? Thanks in advance, David...

I got this recently from Informix: In version 7.3 there has been an enhancement to the RESIDENT configuration parameter to allow more than just the resident shared memory segment to be locked into memory. This can improve performance of the system: RESIDENT 0 Do NOT lock any segments into memory RESIDENT 1 Lock only the resident segment RESIDENT 2 Lock the resident segment and the first virtual segment RESIDENT 3 Lock the resident segment and the next 2 virtual segments RESIDENT -1 Lock resident segment and ALL virtual segments Obviously if you have only one virtual segment settings of 2, 3, & -1 are all equivalent.
