For those interested, I went to an IBM Infobahn session last week, and it was quite informative. I heard that 4GL, version 7.32 will be the last version of 4GL, and will be replaced by EGL. EGL according to IBM, will have the same syntax as the current 4GL (still and Informix product), but will also allow you to do web programming, which was very interesting. This means, you retain your current 4GL skills, and can move on to web programming. Nothing happens to i4gl, but maybe your PATH changed and does not have $INFORMIXDIR/bin in it. 4js have their own runner for programs compiled with 4js compiler. Informix 4gl and 4js are only compatible at the source code level. HTH Michael sending to informix-list
