I have three disks in my possession, INFORMIX I-NET FOR NT 5.01.TE1 (part of ESQL/C for NT disk 3/3) Intersolv Datadirect ODBC Driver Pack Windows NT / WIN95 Single Driver License (2 disks) Install I-NET for NT on your Windows 95 machine using normal setup routine. -- You are responsible for your network config, etc. blah blah blah Configure using SETNET.EXE Test Database connection using ILOGIN.EXE Install ODBC using other two disks - select INFORMIX 2.11 32 bit driver Configure ODBC driver - usual routine again Voila! It works. Fire up Excel 7 (or your choice of WIN 95 application - MS Query 2.0) Choose get external data Use MS Query to build query (I made a really large one that I knew would take a while to run) Choose return data to excel Presto! I can even work in another program whilst query runs. INFORMIX does not support the I-NET for NT on Windows 95, yeah sure, but then again, how many people actually get support from INFORMIX? Sounds like a 'cover-your-butt' response to me ;) I have two clients using it now, no complaints so far. You'll need to order these through your regular channels. (If you have Intersolv already, should be no problem) After all that exercise, NewEra still won't work 100% on Win95. -- +--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Kelly S.
