Thanks. You don't say wich version of Informix you are running or on which system. We are running Informix OnLine 7.11 on a IBM AIX version 3.2.5. We found out that if we made the job run as a background job on the UNIX, then it will run to the end without you have to answer the promts. Giv it a try, but beware if the archive is > 1 tape the operator is never promted insert tape 2 ..... Note || The Informix Backup/Archive manual recommend not to run the backup/archive job in background. Bjarne Wilken Jensen /Alm. Brand Denmark
