Make sure the following are accurate: 1. /etc/services 2. sqlhosts 3. password 4. INFORMIXSERVER configuration test ? normally, after the installation you would just straight to the configuration of the above (and setting up the Data Source at the client side) and then do the connection/login test. FYI, UV/ODBC stands for Universe ODBC. Universe is a completely separate product from anything that uses INFORMIXSERVER, sqlhosts... I have done this before, but it has been long enough, I can't do it from memory, and I do not work anyplace with Universe any more. There is a mailing list, something like mv-informix, as well as comp.databases.pick which might yield quicker results on this topic.
