RE: Informix certified database Specialist?

Danny and Uncle Mike, I think you studied at a University and earned a BS degree or something similar. BUT YOU HAD TO STUDY TO EARN THAT DEGREE don't you ? Now, once you got your degree, you started working ( if not before ) to gain experience in the IT market. So there are a lot of BS in computer science that can only work as operators !, yes, believe me , there are many ignorants with BS in computer science degrees. So it is not the ICPP from Informix, it is us , the people. You talked about employers wanting certified professionals, but I haven't heard complains about employers wanting BS stupid guys. Every people is different, there will be Certified Stupid Professionals, There will be Smart Certified Professionals with high technical knowledge and there will be high technical knowledge professionals not certified. But please don't talk bad about the ICPP. There are an awful lot of ignorant management types who probably would feel wonderful knowing all their employees were "certified". But then they're also the type of people who I wouldn't want to work for. I for one, would rather have employees who were experienced and could actually do stuff rather than ones who simply studied for a test. -- - Danny Wright danwright@bigfoot.com #include <stddisclaimers.h> * God is real, unless declared as an integer. * Why do programmers get Halloween and Christmas mixed up?
