v11.50.fc6 - dbload problem
Posted in 2010
A user found that a dbload command file (delimited file, insert with literal values mixed with f01..f05 fields) failed with error -846 under IDS 11.50.FC6, although the identical file and table loaded fine on 11.50.FC5; copying the FC5 dbload binary onto the FC6 server also worked. IBM's John Miller identified it as known defect IC66043, and another poster confirmed he had reported it and been told it was fixed in xC7. Workarounds: request a patch from support, use the older dbload binary, or wait for FC7. The poster chose to wait.

Hello ... I am running the following command file in v11.50.fc6
file '../data/NDC.txt'
delimiter '|' 6 ;
insert into drug
(drug_num,
ndc,
drug_label_name,
drug_gnn,
gpi,
origin_id,
load_batch_id)
values (f01,f02,f03,f04,f05,'RXENT',1003221018);
When doing this I get a -846 error. The same data file, same table in
v11.50.fc5 works fine ...
I copied the v11.50.fc5 dbload executable over to the v11.50.fc6 server,
and the dbload runs fine. Has anyone else seen this behavior. If so, do
you know if it's been reported to IBM as a bug? Guess I will need to do
that if it hasn't been ...

I've run into the same thing. I did report it to IBM as a bug. I just got
confirmation that it's fixed in xC7.

Hopefully, 11.50.XC7 is JUST a pid drop and not another new feature release,
ala 11.50.XC6. Personally I hope that IBM gets back into the habit of having
each xC# just be bugfixes.
