Hi Seth,
the shutdown/startup scripts are realye simple:
--- Startup Script ----
TBCONFIG=tbconfig.std # or any other
INFORMIXDIR=/opt/lib/informix # or other
export TBCOFIG INFORMIXDIR
$INFORMIXDIR/tbinit
-------------------------------
--- Shutdown Script ---
TBCONFIG=tbconfig.std # or any other
INFORMIXDIR=/opt/lib/informix # or other
export TBCOFIG INFORMIXDIR
# You can also use the tbmode command to force a checkpoint here!
# Shudown all processes, without waiting for
$INFORMIXDIR/tbmode -yk

If you have INFORMIX 6.0 or higher, you have to use 'on' instead of 'tb'.
