Re: Informix Network Connection
Posted in 2004
With much thanks to all who contributed, I've solved it.
I was running the Slackware distribution version of Apache (1.x.x) and
had upgraded the Slackware distribution of PHP to 4.3.4. I finally gave
up and removed both the Apache and PHP packages and configured
httpd-2.0.48 and PHP 4.3.4 like this:
HTTPD: configure --enable-so --enable-ssl --enable-modules=most
PHP: configure --with-tidy --with-phplib --with-mysql=/usr
--with-informix --with-java --with-java --with-openssl --with-zend
--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs
I also followed Johnathan Leffler's guideline for onconfig, sqlhosts,
and /etc/services and wound up with this in onconfig:
DBSERVERNAME fubar_a # Name of default database server
DBSERVERALIASES fubar_shm # Name of network database server
DBSERVERALIASES fubar_str # Name of network database server
DBSERVERALIASES fubar_anet # Name of network database server
with this in sqlhosts:
fubar_a onsoctcp fubar fubar_a
fubar_shm olipcshm fubar fubar_shm fubar_str olipcstr fubar fubar_str
fubar_anet onsoctcp fubar fubar_anet
and with this in /etc/services
# IBM Informix Software
fubar_a 1625/tcp # IBM Informix 7.x engine shared
fubar_anet 1725/tcp # IBM Informix 7.x engine network
Yes, I know that fubar_a and fubar_anet are only network connections --
but, the blasted thing works with both Apache and command line PHP, so I
don't give a hoot!
All's well that ends.
Thanks again to all.
