Alter the next extent to 20-25% of current tablesize, then alter fragment init to rebuild and defrag the table to no worse than 4-5 extents. Problem Solved, no worries mate. Resist the urge to try to tweak the initial extent. The oft suggested unload; drop; create; reload method is a large PITA, especially if lots of referential constraints are involved. My preferred technique is much simpler and all but idiotproof (this is key for me....;-) Greg
