I never had any problem. Just set INFORMIXC="purify cc" and run c4gl just as before. It works a treat and obeys the rules I outlined. It's more entertaining when you use PureLink too. > I have posted on behalf of a colleague and will find out the details > (platform is HP/UX version is around 7.24). OK if you think it is really necessary, but please get him to Cc you on the mail so I know what he's up to. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

It is an incremental linker, also produced by Pure Software (at the time; it's now part of Rational). I forget the details; it wasn't actually sufficiently beneficial because I didn't build the same program often enough -- but the mechanism was not all that different from the Purify system. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

I knew the answer would be "out there" (did search the FAQ too before posting). Glad to see all the necessary mechanisms kicking in to preserve for others! Anyway, many thanks to Jonathan. Robert
