onstat -u ( flag S in position 1 )

Hi all I am facing a performance problem in our IDS 7.31 ( HP-UX ) Recently we change all our servers and storage ( process before ran in 1 hour , now run in 8 minutes ) We don't have any I/O problem not even CPU problem . ( rp 8400 , 10GB memory , 12 processors at 860MHZ and XP storage ) We have a really very fast system .Everything was going fine until last monday. Now sometimes Informix slow down during 5 , 10 minutes during the day and then everithing goes ok , very fast. The only thing I could noticed is always when Informix slown down a "S" flag appear in first position in onstat -u , and all others parameters is fine . I have looking for 'S' flag in manuals but nothing really explain me what it is . I am asking also if some programmer changed something. Thanks Ricardo

Ricardo, The S in position one indicates that the thread is waiting on a mutex. Look at onstat -g lmx and onstat -g wmx to see what mutex this is, and who is owning it. You should be able to grep the owner address from -g wmx and -g lmx out of the onstat -u output.
