IDs tries to allocate virtual memro segments

Hi, We are using IDS V11.50.FC8 on HP and we have a strange behavior. The engine tries to allocate virtual segments non stop. The engine has been running since the end of April without any problems. The engine allocated a bunch of virtual memory segments until it reached the max at the kernel level. The users use the same application. The DBA activated SQLTRACE and stopped it. He is saying that the memory allocation started about the same time he activated SQLTRACE. I asked him to stop SQLTRACE, which he did. We tried "*onmode -F*" to free unused segments, but nothing really happened. *onstat -g seg* shows that all of the segments are really used (blkfree column shows 6). The engine allocated a new sqlhistory memory pool and did not clear the previous one. We stopped SQLTARCE again, and the second memory pool allocated disappeared. It looks like the engine tried to allocated sqlhistory memory and was bloqued by the kernel limitations as far as max segments. So we are stuck unless we nounce the engine. The application is very critical and cannot be stopped at all unless there is a disaster. IS THERE A WAY TO FREE THE SQLHISTORY?
