Re: Finding version number of database server

The following query is as closes to what you can get for version. You can
use it against ANY database:
select owner from systables where tabid = 99; (KEY for systables)
OR
select owner from systables where tabname = ' VERSION';
Be sure that you have a BLANK SPACE before the "V" in 'VERSION'
I have ran this on the following On-line Informix systems and here are my
results:
1. Informix RSAM Version 5.02.UC7. :
owner
5.01
2. INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.11.UC2
owner
7.10D1
3. INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.12.UC1
owner
7.10D1
4. INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.20.UC2
owner
7.20C1
Otherwise you are stuck with just doing "tbstat(onstat) -V" which gives
you the results you see
next to each number above plus serial number information in some cases.
Hopes this helps!

Subject: Finding version number of database server
Hi,
Does anyone know which system table(s) contains
the version number of a database server? I have
scanned thru quite a lot of system tables (on
server version 7.1), but still have NO luck
in finding this piece of information!
Any advice you may have is very much appreciated.
