The only addtional Informix software that's required for the VORTEXperl solution is the Informix ESQL/C product or Informix CLI product on the Server machine. VORTEXperl uses Perl Sockets to communicate with the VORTEXserver which is installed on the same machine as Informix. No Informix Client middleware is required on the Client machine.
